My lessons are taught using many highly recommended texts books, the first book I start my beginners off with is Rhythm and Fills. This was written by Mike Dolbear, he in turn taught my tutor Rob Stevens (RhythmWorks). One main reason to use text books is to get students familiar with music notation, it provides a measurable history to what has, and is being learnt.
In addintion to these text books, I offer entry into the Trinity Guildhall examinations. Students can work towards achieving awards and certificates, thus under-pinning growing knowledge and experience.
Some of the other books I’ve learnt from and use are;
Advance funk studies (Rick Latham)

Conversations in Clave (Horacio Hernandez)
The new Breed (Gary Chester)

Jungle drum ‘n’ Bass (Johnny Rabb)

Trinity Guildhall grades 1-8

Drumset warn-ups (Rod Morgenstein)

Future Sounds (David Garibaldi)

In addition to the large collection of books, I’ve amassed a wide DVD collection of featured drummers showing technique, giving tips, live performances, how to’s. Many clips from these DVDs’ can be found on-line. The technique’s lernt from these videos’ are also passed on to students.
